I heard that same story on NPR, but was distracted during part of
it.  However, I remember him also saying something about the character
who prepares the donuts like that---that the donuts being stacked
like that is kind of demonstrative of her personality, I just
can't remember what aspect of her personality he was referring to.
I hadn't watched any Twin Peaks episodes when I heard this, so
I didn't pay close enough attention to get the details.
