"A policeman's dream."  There is a legend in the USA that the police
are obsessed with donuts, due to their habit (especially in the
Northeast) of hanging out in donut shops.  Sometimes it seems like you
can't go in to a donut shop without seeing two or three cops.  Of
course, the reason is that cops work odd hours, and donut shops are
typically 24-hour establishments.
