As a Film-Studies major at Emory, I was intrigued by the use of back
masking in Thursday's episode. In consultation with Dr. David Cook
(author of Narrative Hist. of Film), we determined that both the
acting and dialogue must have been conducted in reverse during
the dream sequence. This was blatently obvious, but the point is --
was this to delineate this sequence merely as dream? Does this
correspond with Lynchs
vision a la Blue Velvet? Is reality a dream -- the world is so
strange, says Laura Dern. Were the killers revealed in the dream
or in the woodlands sequence (bottles/ rock)? What was the flash
of blood at the beginning of the ending dream sequence -- Laura's blood/
killer's?
