There's been a lot of talk about touching the nose (e.g. Laura in the
dream, others who I don't recall).  Could this be a reference"to
snorting coke?  Perhaps that's what links the various nose touchers.
They are all part of the cocaine ring.

This doesn't explain who killed Laura, but it does suggest that there's
a lot of other bad things going on that may or may not be linked to the
main plot.
