After seeing another comment about the football being on the hood of the car when Bobby and Snake got back to it, I watched this episode again. The football was thrown by someone, you can see it fly through the air and hit the hood of the car right as the two get back to the car. Remember, Leo told Bobby "Go out for a pass" (twice, I think) before they started running. The ball was definitely thrown by someone, but whether it was the same ball, and who threw it, I'm not sure, though Leo would seem to be the one.
