High praise indeed. > > I share that critic's opinion. The Singing Detective was a fascinating series with delicious mixtures of high and black comedy. The scene in which Marlowe lies in the hospital bed while doctors and nurses sing "Dem Bones" is at the pinnacle of surrealistic comedy. But then, SD would never make it to commercial TV (it did in Europe, but that's another matter). TP in many ways is one of the finest shows to appear on commercial TV. And before SD and TP, you might have to go all the way back to Brideshead Revisited for a show of comparable quality. -- Eugene Fiume, Dynamic Graphics Project Department of Computer Science, University of Toronto elf@dgp.toronto.edu, (416) 978-5472
