Subject: Madeline and Hamlet From: sanchez@oxy.edu (John Christopher Sanchez) Date: 1990-08-27, 11:54 Newsgroups: alt.tv.twin-peaks I am a first timer going through the re-runs, though I've read all the spoilers so I know a little more than I should. Did anyone notice that on "Invitation to Love", the soap opera Shelly and Leland Palmer watch, there are two characters played by the same actress? It's true! AND we see this for the first time right before Madeline, played by the same actress as Laura Palmer, first appears. I think this is a clue that Madaline is NOT Laura Palmer in disguise, but simply whatshername in another role. How about all those Hamlet references at the funeral? I'm going back to read that play for clues. In it, there is a fight at Ophelia's funeral, and her brother ends up on the casket. Ophelia was a young woman with a weird boyfriend who drove her crazy. She died by drowning. Laura did not die from drowning, although a lot of us thought so at first. Did one of her boyfriends drive her crazy, Hamlet style? Also at the funeral, when Leland is on the casket, Sarah Palmer says "Don't ruin this too!" Too? Hmm, maybe she is also refering to the photo he got all bloody. Maybe not. */*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/ John SanchezA wise American saying: sanchez@oxy.edu "You can't make chicken salad out of Occidental College chicken shit." 1600 Campus Rd.
