As a previous poster pointed out, the hunched-over figure is an old crone, putting the "final touches" on Audrey. So it isn't the dwarf. I guess I wasn't paying close enough attention the first time through, but I just watched it again. However, how you could have missed the wscene I described, is beyond me. A small, mysterious figure does appear and scurry away. My hypothesis here is that the sexual act will in fact be consummated in the dark, and then once the lights come on, surprise! Hmm, getting back to this crone - isn't the crone a symbol in various mythologies, including Tarot cards? Any Tarot types out there? If the crone is in fact some sort of symbol, what exactly is it a symbol OF? The whole show, the more I think about it, is full of symbolism like that. Primal imagery like the deer's head, cryptic references to the "evil in the woods", "Ghost Wood" - this above and beyond all the more obvious mysticism of Agent Cooper, Mrs. Palmer and the Log Lady. Are they ever going to get back to the evil in the woods? What exactly is it, giant ants? - Dan
