Subject: Episode IV questions... From: travis@zimbra.enet.dec.com (Ward C. Travis) Date: 1990-09-02, 19:44 Newsgroups: alt.tv.twin-peaks 1) How many people think Audrey just discovered that there is a connection between her father and Leo? Recall that she's playing Harriet the Spy now, and that her father sends her out of the room just as he takes a phone call. If YOU were Audrey, wouldn't you stand outside the door and listen to what your father said? Mr Horne says enough to tell anyone who could hear him speak that he's going to meet somebody at a given place. I presume Audrey has some way of getting around on her own (she shows up at the RR after the funeral without any escort, but in a place like TP, perhaps it's a short walk?) and that she might have the nerve to try to spy on the meeting her father arranged... again, note that Audrey doesn't close the door to the study on the way out. 2) Poor Bobby Briggs. In his haste to blow out of Renault's apartment, he gets fingerprints on everything. No gloves! And Cooper's going to have the room analyzed.. 3) Leo wraps Bernie Renault's body in twine, but not in plastic... interesting but just another little thing. Looked to me like Bernie's body was wrapped in burlap and twine. After seeing all the plastic sheeting lying around Leo's house, and noting that Laura's body was found in plastic, I thought for SURE that Frost would have Leo use the plasticon Bernie, just to give us all something more to chatter about. On the other hand, maybe we should infer that Leo knows better than to wrap bodies in plastic? Maybe even stretch THAT and say that somebody other than Leo used the plastic to implicate Leo down the road? (NAAAAH) Also, not surprising, but we *do* see that Leo is a killer and doesn't get too worried about it. 4) Ok, we've all noticed how much Audrey is lying to everybody about being/not being friends with Laura. The photo in Mr Horne's study would seem to be another piece of evidence that they were, in fact, good friends. They are both wild, Laura being the wilder one to date. Match this with how many times she's said things about being friends with Laura to Mr Horne without Mr Horne acting surprised, and I think it makes sense. Why did she lie when asked by Cooper? (Also, Cooper's keen intuition must have told him she was lying, right?) 5) Mrs Palmer has *two* visions of the necklace (a repeat vision?). The scene immediately following the description of the vision to HST begins with a close-up of Emerald's two necklaces. Fun, but probably not a 'real' clue. I think there's only one (two halves) necklace. 6) Hank knew Leo, as they're both violent I guess this isn't surprising, as Hank recommended Leo to Mr Horne. So Mr Horne has been in touch with Hank while Hank has been in jail?? Hmmmmm... who knows. 7) Josie really changes in this episode. Not only is she bold enough to try and get some serious dirt on Catherine, but she's also linked with a killer (Hank). ISn't this great? The possibilities are endless. Perhaps she wants Hank to be an enforcer-type bodyguard; more likely there's a romantic tie in there.. And WHY doesn't she tell HST that she was at the hotel? I think it's because she didn't want Pete to find out (not YET...) because she does sincerely like Pete. That she likes Pete was the purpose of the mayo-on-the-sandwich scene -- she really lays it on THICK for Pete, doesn't she? This is great because of all the possibilities. Best TV mystery I've ever followed. -wt -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ward C.
