Subject: Cigar wrapper From: LDM102@psuvm.psu.edu (Lawrence D. Matson) Date: 1990-09-04, 19:32 Newsgroups: alt.tv.twin-peaks Hi, I've tried to read all postings, but field work has made me miss some. I once had a minor interest in forensic geology (!); and, as a kid, I tried lifting fingerprints from all kinds of materials around the house. Seems to me that 'cellophane' type materials yielded decent prints, though the memories are faded. In one episode (I've gotten them all mixed up!), Leo (I think) & Ben (?) are discussing the body of Bernie Renault (?!) and Ben drops the wrapper of his cigar right there next to the body. Has this been discussed? Is it assumed that the prints will be weathered away by the time the body is found? Does the cigar brand not help anyone investigating? Does the high runoff during frequent rainstorms in the Pacific Northwest guarantee that criminals can be so careless? Is Ben over-confident in the crime? Are any of these questions relevant? :-) If this has been taken care of, would someone give a brief summary of the resolution (and accept my apologies for wasting your time)? Thanks in advance. -Larry LDM102@psuvm.psu.edu is Lawrence D. Matson, S.D.A. a grad student in the Penn State Department of Geosciences.
