Your theory is sound, but I believe the term is "borderline multiple
personality". Laura did seem to have several distinct personalities,
but they were all Laura. Real multiple personalities are different,
independent people. So far, there is no real evidence of a totally
non-Laura personality.

Gee, I dunno. Sort of hard to kill yourself like that without
help. Remember, Laura was basically thrashed to death. She died
from loss of blood from a great multitude of contusions, no one of
which would have caused serious harm. (Corrections?) Also, she was
tied up. Can't do that by yourself.
