OK --- Although I haven't found any discussion of this in the messages I've
been able to get to, many of my friends support the theory that Laura and
Madeline are twin sisters.

I have only one problem with this theory: Dr. Hayward tells Harry and Dale "You
know I delivered Laura" before giving them the autopsy report.  If Laura and
Madeline are actually twins (isn't everything else in the show?), then
innocent-looking Dr. Hayward is covering up something nasty.
