Subject: Laura and J-Crew From: webster@furs.rutgers.edu (John Clayton Webster) Date: 1990-09-09, 21:52 Newsgroups: alt.tv.twin-peaks I recently viewed twin peaks in a marathon manner (9 hours (?)) so I am more than a little vague on which episode has occurred so far, so... * POSSIBLE * SPOLIERS TO FOLLOW When Special Agent Dale Cooper (FBI, mind you) exhibits his highly accurate stone-throwing art it tells us a great deal. (Pardon me for possible errors in memory as I haven't verified this in reviewing.) We know that Laura was going to Meet "J" on the night of her death. Cooper's stone-toss is much more than just a nice plot device to review what the hell is going on, if you look at it in the right manner. The question asked of the toss is (I believe) "Who was with Laura on the night of her death?" The bottle falls down for Dr. Jacoby. The bottle is shattered for Leo Johnson. Leo didn't kill Laura. That would be too simple to believe. The blood on his shirt wasn't Laura's as we were expected to believe. This is too much suspicion on Leo for him to have actually committed the murder. Since we are already dealing with this in the context of a tv mystery (stone-toss and all), this is good enough to scratch out Leo. If Leo didn't do it who did? By the stone-toss, we can logically presume the murderer's name doesn't start with a "J". Their name would have been on the board and would have registered higher as "Being with Laura on the night of her death." Sound logic? So whatcha think; Her own father, or her best friend? There are subtle hints and interpretations of Cooper comments that point to both. ______________________________________________________________________ You see any blood?? I didn't see any blood.
