Subject: tp anecdote From: rkerber@eagle.wesleyan.edu Date: 1990-09-12, 13:41 Newsgroups: alt.tv.twin-peaks Here is an amusing anecdote: I was in Japan from december '89 until May '90. The only information I could get from America in English was from a short, weekly New York Times summary, and the international version of "Newsweek" magazine. I particularly enjoy political cartoons, so during my weekly perusal of the cartoons in "Newsweek" I came across one that showed Gorbachov putting the pressure on some spies to find out who killed Laura Palmer. For weeks I wondered who L.P. was, and why I hadn't seen anything about her death in the Newspaper!
