Subject: Bulletproof Tuxedo From: zweig@cs.uiuc.edu (Johnny Zweig) Date: 1990-09-16, 20:10 Newsgroups: alt.tv.twin-peaks Reply-to: zweig@cs.uiuc.edu I just noticed that in the last episode, when Agent Cooper is shot twice with a semiautomatic pistol with a silencer (an in-joke among those who know a bit about guns, since a silencer doesn't do much good for an open-chambered weapon) that we see a closeup of both shots, and there is not one single drop of blood from either. Given that a number of people get shot in this episode, replete with the normal outflowings of blood one would expect, it seems pretty clear that Dale was indeed wearing his bulletproof tuxedo. On some tv shows, absence of blood would just mean lazy special-effects work, but in this case I think it is significant. Aside: anyone know why, after Jacques guzzles his beer, he stands up from a table containing two half-full glasses? Seems like a continuity glitch, or else a waitress with an odd sense of humor.... -Johnny TV
