Subject: More reasons why Leland = killer BOB From: horny@ucscb.ucsc.edu (Michael Kaye) Date: 1990-10-01, 21:12 Newsgroups: alt.tv.twin-peaks I posted an earlier message explaining why I thought Laura had been molested by Leland at a young age (12 or earlier). Some people still seem to cling onto dippy theories like that Truman did it :) , so I thought I'd post more to support my idea. **This is a direct copy of page 84 of Laura's secret diary.** For those of you who haven't read it, go ahead and read it! It's great! Dear Diary, January 10, 1987 (age 15) I tried to talk to Dad at breakfast and he just sat there twitching, like he doesn't have time for any extra thoughts. Doesn't have time for the fucking suicide dreams his own daughter is having. Neither one of my parents will talk to me... What is this? Some kind of dream? Dad took off all of his clothes and shouted, "It's a dream... Fucking relax, would you? ... So your mother saw photos of you licking the little privates of other women. It appeared in these photos that you were enjoying yourself. Is this true?" I've never been more afraid than I am this very minute. I didn't even realize I was sleeping when that was written... was I? Shit, this is too weird. Just a little too weird. Was BOB here? Was BOB inside... I won't even think it. --L (end of entry) Change "Was BOB inside..." to "was BOB inside Leland?". The way Leland talks to Laura here is consistant with the way BOB addresses Laura throughout the diary. Laura couldn't say it, because she (with the help of BOB) is supressing the identity of BOB, her molester and tormentor. She "won't even think it." because the idea of her father being BOB is too terrifying. I don't blame her. Leland himself is supressing the idea that he is the tool BOB operates through, clinging to the memory of dancing with Laura. (from pg. 156) Laura: Who are you... really? BOB: I AM WHAT YOU FEAR I COULD BE. The scene with Leland boffing Laura's coffin is pretty incriminating by itself. His hesitation at having Laura's non-secret diary revealed to authorities made me think too... but it might be nothing. Killer BOB tells Coop that "You may think I've gone insane, but I promise, I will kill again". Can you think of anyone else who has recently become insane, who has killed again? We know Leland is very nutso, humping coffins, various dancing scenes, singing at the Haywards, the white hair, etc etc etc. We know he has killed again (Jacques). Killer BOB also says "Catch you with my death bag", and we see Jacques in a death bag during the season premiere. The idea that Ben killed Laura also makes alot of sense, but to me this Leland theory makes more sense. Certainly the murderer is a man; the log lady says the extra person with the foursome that night was male. Also, the 3rd person who slept with Laura that night was male, having left semen. Whoever left Josie as #1 at the top of their list of suspects, I hope you read this. :) Someone mentioned that Jerry Horne could have done it: he was out of town, in Europe, eating those baguettes. :) ---Michael Kaye horny@ucscb.ucsc.edu "Many things are not as they seem" "Sometimes owls are big" --The log lady
