Well, new season starts off with a bang.  Just some notes,
and then a speculation.

Well, the half-heart is on a leather thong again.  Unless the
chain transmutes depending on who owns it, I think we have to
write this one off as continuity error.

Who is the Friendly Giant ?  What supernatural force does he
represent ?  

I thought Audrey was tied up.  If she was, she should go on
tour as the greatest escape artist since Houdini.

So, Leo had a cocaine stash, and *a new pair of boots*.  And
then our one-armed shoe salesman shows up again.  Seems like
a tie-in to me.

Ronnette's returning blurry memories have the classic Killer
BOB in them.  Assuming that the killer is a character already
introduced (which is one of the few things we have been assured
of by DL/MF), why would he/she look like BOB ?  

And now the speculation.


I think Leland killed Laura.  In the first dream sequence (are
the giant visits dreams ?) Killer BOB states that he will capture
with his death-bag, and will kill again.  Who did we see in a
death-bag, emphasized again by the giant's words ?  Jacques.  And
Leland killed him.

Also, I think that in all the chaos of the train car scene, the 
letter 'R' ended up under the wrong girl's fingernail, and it
was meant for 'R'onnette (like the 'T'hersa Banks, earlier). In fact, 
Leland my have been thinking he was killing Ronnette the whole time, 
up until that wild scream at the end.  

I'm not betting the proverbial farm on any of this, of course.
