I think it is clear that he clubbed Jacoby, though. It seems to me that his "recovery" is a result of killing jaques, either as revenge or to eliminate someone who knew about his mistreatment (or potentially killing) Laura. But if he did kill Laura, and killed Jaques because Jaques was there that night, why didn't he kill ronette while he was at the hospital as well? Other comments: "Three have seen him." So Leo and Jaques did not see him. Did Laura and Ronette go to the train car or did the Third Man come by the cabin? We know that Jacoby and Leland like to walk and lurk in the woods... I think Blackie is a junkie.... How about the quote "I'm back!" and the Horne brothers dancing to Leland's singing. Those Horne brothers sure are sleazy, but I no longer think they killed Laura. I'll bet they (and Leland) were at one-eyed Jacks the night Laura died.
