I do not know if it was coincidence or not, but the old man kept saying
something about having heard about Cooper and then giving a thumbs up -
the same sign Cooper later (and last season for that matter) gave to Andy,
another character who acts a lot like the old man.  My gut says that the
old man is Andy's dad/grandfather...
