I've never sure when something happens if it means anything or if it's just a Lynchism. Was I supposed to get this? Lynch was responsible for the film of (sort of) Frank Herbert's DUNE. As I recall, McLachlan played the role of Paul Atriedes. One of the mental disciplines trained into the character by his Bene Gesserit tutors was the control of fear ("Fear is the mind-killer...."). Hence the connection to Cooper's comments....
