Subject: Thoughts on Twin Peaks and Laura's Secret Diary From: Heidi.Aycock@samba.acs.unc.edu (BBS Account) Date: 1990-10-01, 06:14 Newsgroups: alt.tv.twin-peaks Thank goodness (a rare commodity in Twin Peaks) someone clarified the schizophrenia thing. It is particularly important since Laura seems to be having schizophrenic episodes which point to her NOT having a split personality. She is certainly haunted by something, but it is hard to believe much of it could have happened in the real world. Maybe an initial few molestations that triggered the hallucenigenic horrors. What really bugs me is that when you toss in these ideas of some construct of Laura's mind becoming physical (the meat puppet theory, the idea that BOB comes from another plane into this one), Twin Peaks starts to sound like Nightmare on Elm Street--supplemenatary entry. I can't see that as a Lynch plot. --
