Just an observation that may lend light to the question of Cooper
dreaming the giant.  Major Briggs in the same episode went into an
extended theory of the difference between a dream and a vision.  I
think this makes it clear that although Cooper insisted to himself
that he was not dreaming, he was in fact having a vision.  I think
we can decide for ourselves what really happened to Cooper's ring,
but in his fatigued state he (and we) perceived that the Giant took
it.   yep yep yep, that's what I think.
