Why did ben give an expensive gift to his employee's child? Possibly Laura is really Ben's daughter and not Lelland's. Possibly Ben is just a swell guy despite all evidence to the contrary. Perhaps Ben molested the child Laura and this horse was his guilt offering. Perhaps Ben was aware that Lelland was molesting Laura and this was his way of trying to help her. At any rate, near the end of her diary, Laura wrote that she released her horse to the wild in an emotional moment. Later she regretted having sent Troy out into the wilds alone. Still later, she wrote that Troy was found with a broken leg and shot. According to her diary this occurred prior to her murder. Is this a ghost horse? > > > >And, according to net discussions, the broken circle is a sign of evil. That is one theory but it doesn't seem to apply. Surely a pet pony for a little girl is a good thing? And surely the full circle at the bottom of the shoes is not a good thing since the shoes are somehow linked to drug pushing. Ann Hodgins
