I personally doubt that Pete did it, but I'm reminded of "Morse's Law"
(that's Chief Inspector Morse) which states that the person who found the
body has at least a 50% chance of being the killer.  Furthermore, according
to Morse, the person who last saw the deceased alive has an almost 100%
chance of being his murderer!
