Whaddyathink? If so, BOB is a dimwit. Placing the body anywhere with the intention that it be found guarantees that Leland gets nailed on his story about dropping Maddy off at the bus station. And since Gerard was in custody both at the time of Maddy's murder and when her body was discovered, with only a few hours missing at midday, and since Truman and Cooper have him sniffing up Ben's pantleg for BOB spoor *after* they recaptured him, it seems unlikely to me that they'll assume he had anything to do with Maddy. There is something very bizarre about MIKE's BOB-detection ability: it doesn't seem to work worth a damn. When he has his fit in the GN, there's no evidence that Leland/BOB is anywhere near (in fact, isn't he at home learning that Maddy plans to return to Missoula the next morning?), but when L/B is doing his Fred Astaire number in the lobby, we hear nary a peep from him, although he's being held in the same building. He's sound asleep, aside from a slight stump twitch. -- Dave Mack
