Perhaps BOB/Leland was satisfied or content with the incestuous 
relationship with his daughter Laura...but Laura was reaching an
age where she could escape the parasitic relationship.  Losing
Laura was perhaps provoking a crisis in BOB/Leland with the
result being the current outbreak of mayhem.
