I didn't think of that, but it was definitely a competitive interchange between the two. Andy was adopting a protective mate and sensitive guy attitude (that's how nice guys show they are the best bet) and Dick was rebutting with evidence that Andy is putty in Dick's hands and is not enough of a man for Lucy.
