Subject: The Owls still are what they seem! Dumb giant. From: blk@mitre.org (Brian L. Kahn) Date: 1990-12-05, 09:46 Newsgroups: alt.tv.twin-peaks The giant said he would give the ring back after his three statements were shown to be true. What is there in this episode that satisfied this condition? I don't see how Cooper has any notion of why the owls are not what they seem. The TV viewer sees a lot of owls stuff, but if Cooper was watching the show he would have accused Leland earlier. (;-) Actually, we don't know what the owls are either, altho we can be pretty certain that they are more than just nocturnal predatory avians. If they are just a temporary host for spirits, a sort of Motel 6 of the astral plane, WHO CARES? What could that have to do with plot, or character actions, or viewer interest, or even mood? Maybe the owl explanation is on the cutting room floor with the Navy ball bouncing squad? -- B< Brian Kahn blk@security.mitre.org "may the farce be with you"
