Subject: Re: Twin Peaks: Ben is BOB? From: sarwate@ux1.cso.uiuc.edu (Sanjiv Sarwate) Date: 1990-12-26, 12:46 Newsgroups: alt.tv.twin-peaks,rec.arts.tv Ben's behavior in 12/15 is not enough to convince me that he has been possessed by BOB. Ben has been through a lot lately. The big deal he was trying to set up with Tojimura went sour in a way he hadn't expected, namely the face of Catherine being behind Tojimura's beard and mustache. Second, the police royally screwed him over with the arrest. Not only is his reputation damaged by the arrest, but now the police know that he operates OEJ's, which is not a major reputation booster. While incarcerated, he also signed over Ghostwood and the mill to Catherine, and got nothing in return, since her testimony wasn't needed a few hours later. Ben has suffered a defeat, and is feeling the weight of all of his shady operations crushing him. Thus, he is seeking solace in the past. The film of the groundbreaking for the Great Northern is just that. He is going back to when it all began, when life was simpler, and purer. Just my $0.02. -- Sanjiv Sarwate "But what is truth? sarwate@ux1.cso.uiuc.eduIs truth unchanging law? BITNET: SANJIV@UIUCVMD.BITNETWe both have truths. Are mine the same as yours?"
