Subject: Piper Laurie spotted again From: fen@toyshop.lonestar.org (Gervase Fen) Date: 1991-01-11, 05:37 Newsgroups: alt.tv.twin-peaks In the midst of the month-long TP deprivation, I had a special treat last night. A friend and I rented Agatha Christie's "Appointment with Death," starring none other than Piper Laurie! This was a 1988 production with Peter Ustinov in the role of Hercule Poirot, as well as Lauren Bacall and Carrie Fischer. The movie itself was excellent (I'm partial to mysteries, you understand), and Piper had a wonderful role as the evil stepmother who ends up getting herself bumped off. Wow! I highly recommend this film for anyone who's interested in seeing more of Piper, not to mention anyone who likes a good old-fashioned mystery. -Fen "Into what I have said no gleam of reason has been allowed to intrude; and I can think of scarcely a single error, however ancient and obscure, which I have failed to propogate."
