_My Secret Life_ is one of the more famous of the anonymous victorian
erotic novels.  I haven't read this one, but if I remember the cover blurb
correctly, it is narrated from the point of view of a literal fly on the
wall (which I believe was the cover illustration on Dougie's copy).  Putting
the First Assistant Director's name on the cover as author was almost
certainly meant as an in-joke.
