Headline News and others say that Twin Peaks picked up a couple of Golden
Globe awards, one for outstanding drama series and one for Coop himself.

I never knew the Globes went to TV shows, but the newscaster was quick to
notice my idiocy and explain that yes, they do give Globes for television.

Hey, I like TP.  But a Golden Globe?  I think not.  I don't watch much TV
(my TV probably watches about 2 hours of Big-Three programming each week),
but surely there's *something* out there better than TP.  Maybe?

A chum o' mine who has more than a bit of disdain for soaps says the vote
may have been out of sympathy.  "Gee, maybe if we give this show a Globe,
they'll cancel something else instead."
