It is extremely unclear whether Denise is meant to be a transvestite
or a transexual - in other words, whether s/he just likes to dress up
in women's clothing or feels like a woman trapped in a man's body.
Early indications strongly suggested the latter - the fact that she
was now going by the name Denise and dressing as a woman even during
work. The comment on the last show though, seemed more suggestive of
transvestism. Perhaps Denise is just an androgynous anomoly who fits
into no neat categories...if so, truly a fascinating creation!
