Re. receiving Gulf War updates whilst watching Twin Peaks.

I don't know about the US, but we have two excellent Teletext services in the
UK (the BBC's Ceefax, and ITV's Oracle) which provide news updates among other
things. If you could persuade tv stations to broadcast Teletext news updates,
provided the majority of news-addicts had Teletext tv sets, there would be no
need to pre-empt other programmes.

ps. Does "thick" really mean the same thing in the US (ie. stupid)?.
