Perhaps we should consider Cliff Notes to the multiple sentence notes?

Meanwhile, the idea of chess attracts my attention.

I think that Cooper is the King, even though Briggs was on the throne,
Windom Earl is definitely trying to kill Coop.  When Earl says that
he is willing to sacrifice "my queen" -- it seems that this is too
good a pun to pass up.  Dennis/Denise must be Earl's operative!

I think it is too early to completly analyze this storyline...more clues
please!
