She says that the first supernatural storyline started at the very beginning of the show when David made friends with the ghost of Josette Collins, who appeared in her own protrait at the old house. Sarah did not appear until Barnabas showed up, so those two storylines fit together, but do not represent the first of such. You are quite correct that the first "monster" storyline began with Barnabas' appearance. My wife says the show was better before Barnabas arrived, but if that's true then it continuously declined thereafter. Personally, I like the whole Barnabas and post stuff, although when they went into parallel time towards the end, they really lost it. > > For more information read _My Scrapbook Memories of Dark Shadows_ by Kathryn > > Leigh Scott. > > An excellent reference. I must add, though, that the complete storyline summary gets pretty thick unless you're an avid fan. BTW, for those who don't know it yet, the "Premiere" episode of Dark Shadows (the new series), which was destroyed last week by Tom Brokaw and his gang of "Gee I don't know what's going on either but let's speculate for an hour or so" cronies in the Pacific Time zone, will be airing tonight on NBC at 9PM PST, followed at 10PM by this week's show. Too bad CBS couldn't see fit to do the same for Knots Landing - last week's show has thus far simply been canceled with no plans to air before next week's show (so we miss an hour of multi-day storyline plot and it looks like some very important-to-the-show events will be skipped). Write an complain, quickly, if you care. We now return you to alt.tv.twin-peaks - apologies for the interruption. -- Mark A.
