Hopefully I can contribute something meaningful to this discussion (I think
I've read and/or seen most of Ibsen's plays - including "When We Dead Awake".)

Was the person who originally suggested a connection thinking of a specific
Ibsen play? "When We Dead Awake", for example?

The interesting thing about "When We Dead Awake" is that it uses symbolism
rather than the realism used in Ibsen's other works.
