Subject: OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT ABOUT 1/26 EPISODE From: zweig@cs.uiuc.edu (Johnny Zweig) Date: 1991-01-28, 13:58 Newsgroups: alt.tv.twin-peaks Reply-to: zweig@cs.uiuc.edu According to reliable sources inside NBC: Despite the many claims to the contrary, there WAS INDEED an episode of Twin Peaks aired on January 26, 1991. The protracted discussion of its contents was all totally legitimate. The episode was preempted in many areas due to sagging interest on the part of the viewing public. There was an editorial mistake that caused the episode aired on January 19, 1991 to run the title "In two weeks...." this was caused by operator error and can be attributed to the War in the Gulf. The postings to alt.tv.twin-peaks saying things like "relax, this whole 1/26 episode thing is a hoax" are being posted by disgruntled individuals who are protesting about the limited areas that chose to broadcast the episode. The episode was run, Dick Tremain did perish, Andrew Packard was seen with syringes and vials of unknown substances (possibly drugs used for chemical interrogation, CIA-style, which relates to the top-secret Briggs goings-on), James was rescued from the Spider Woman, etc. -Johnny Official
