I work all day in a sitting position and to be perfectly frank a dress is a lot more comfortable than pants. In fact I'm always more comfortable in a dress and as far as social pressure I find I'm under more pressure to wear casual clothes (ie. jeans on weekends) when I would prefer not to. All you have to do is buy clothing the right size. This has nothing to do with trying to project a feminine appearance or living up to social standards, it is simply a case of comfort. > >2) perhaps keeping his mind occupied with trivial concerns like keeping > >his knees together, balancing on heels and keeping his hose on > >straight distracts him from more disturbing obsessions and worries. I can not believe that any man would think he would gain more power as a woman, particularly since woman have been demanding greater self control for decades. Denis stands to lose a lot for chosing to become a woman. He will be subjected to ridicule from some of his peers, possible dismissal from his job and probably physical harm from the unenlightened members of our society. He will probably sacrifice a lot more power/control than he'll ever gain. > >Just theories. I'm not really very confident about any of them. Feel > >free to jump in with other suggestions. For some reason I am really > >very curious about cross-dressing. There are several very good autobiographies out there, of which I can not think of the names, about men who have been transexuals. It became quite a fad to publish these stories when that tennis player changed from being a man to woman (unfortunately his name has escaped me as well). Also, there is a fair amount of information in most psychology books. Until recently, it was quite popular to treat transexualism as a mental illness and on par with homosexuality. Plus because transexuals stood out more from the typical homosexual, they were subjected to much more extensive treatment and research even though their occurrence is rarer.
