I'm hoping that the end of the Jean Renault plotline means a 
cessation of TP's relentless portrayal of Canadians as evil, crooked,
or both.  (I bet the RCMP is pissed about that bad Mountie, especially
because of his comic-opera ceremonial-uniform initial appearance.)
 
Anyway, the tide may have turned, if we can read anything into Lynch's 
(or Badalamenti's) choice of Vancouver's "Doug and the Slugs" as Julee
Cruise's (onscreen) back-up band in the 1-26 episode.
