Subject: 1/26 Episode: It Never Really Happened. From: rooney@oxy.edu (Michael Sean Rooney) Date: 1991-01-31, 11:08 Newsgroups: alt.tv.twin-peaks Alright, already. As much as I have enjoyed the pseudo-commentary and discussion (it's about time we loosened up about the show), the piteous murmurs of confusion on this group (like when someone seriously considers the possibility of the "regional" broadcasts--Puh-Leeze! Here and I never really thought that the smiley was all that necessary...), and the rapid approach of the *real* Episode 2014 bring me to the following announcement, for those stragglers who haven't caught on: THERE WAS NO EPISODE ON 1/26/91. The thread originated solely here, on a.t.t-p, where Rod Johnson cleverly (and straight-facedly) invented a commentary/description of a non-existent episode--more or less a biting satire on our discussion habits, not to mention on the show itself. For those of you who might have missed it: (God, I feel like Joe Piscopo's Ted Koppel) THERE WAS NO EPISODE ON 1/26/91. Cordially, M.S. Rooney P.S.: My favorite posting in the entire thread remains Kathleen Hunt's "transcript" of the scene at the end in the Sheriff's office, with the llama and the OAM babbling mystically. "Birds can fly," indeed.
