Ack, I've been blind!  It was Joe Piscopo who played the coroner's
assistant on the 1/26 show.  He was the one who found the "m" under
the fingernail of Mrs. Hayward.

Thanks for the clue, M.S.!  I'll go home at lunch and rewatch the
episode.
