Subject: Re: Twin Peaks Cancellation From: f3w@mentor.cc.purdue.edu (Mark Gellis) Date: 1991-02-16, 22:07 Newsgroups: alt.tv.twin-peaks In addition to writing to ABC (hey, it worked with Star Trek, for one year, at least), it might be help to write to OTHER networks, like Fox or one of the cable networks; they might be interested in the extra ratings they could get by picking up a cult show like TP, and the show might actually be improved by getting it out of the clutches of the Big Three, whose executives are clearly among the great moral cowards of the Western World. By the way, when writing to ABC, it may be helpful to avoid cursing them out, that only makes you sound like a fanatic. What you want to do is be polite, and firm, and let them know how enormously disappointed you are with the network for their decision, and that Twin Peaks was really your only reason to watch anything on ABC, and so on. It might also help to point out how the show actually makes the network look good, since it does show that they're willing to take a chance on an unusual show because it's well done and interesting and offers some quality entertainment. I have a feeling a letter campaign like this might actually do some good. Telling them you're angry is one thing, getting them to understand that there's something in it for them if they keep Twin Peaks on the air, however, might get them to do just that, and that is, after all, what we want.
