Subject: Twin Peaks Cancellation From: skip@brahms.udel.edu (Allen P Haughay Jr) Date: 1991-02-16, 14:00 Newsgroups: alt.tv.twin-peaks The dropping of ratings is no surprise, nor the final cancellation of Twin Peaks. ABC buried the damned show in a 10:00 PM timeslot on Saturday night, perhaps ignoring the very demographic to which the show appealed. The 18-35 yr. old yuppie-esque crowd to which the show has its appeal is probably NOT even home on a Saturday night. David Lynch was quoted as saying that Twin Peaks fans are party fiends, and that's what they are doing Saturdays...he said moving Twin Peaks to this timeslot just freed up a weeknight for the party hearty people to whom the show would appeal. Yeah, whatever. He's right, though. To top it all off, ABC was always pre-empting it, moving it from 10:00 PM to 9:00 PM, not putting it on for a week. Really a stupid thing to do when you want to keep regular viewers. Television just became a bit duller again. Where do we write? Skip Haughay
