It too was cut short, late in its first season I believe it was. The producers must have had some advance warning. The venue had migra- ted from Chicago to Las Vegas, and in the final show the bad guys went to hide out in a shack in the desert after a shootout. Guess where? Ground zero for a nuclear test. The finale was, shall we say, unusually satisfying. Not to be compared with the moral completeness of "Manon of the Spring," but close. The producers had a whole 'nother problem when Crime Story was renewed. (Nothing that the makers of Flash Gorden hadn't faced week after week, decades before...)
