I guarantee you ABC (or any network) will take much greater notice of 
complaints sent via USnail rather than by telephone.  A huge stack of 
well written letters (asking for another night perhaps) is much harder 
to ignore than a single page telephone log from an operator who may be 
so bored (aka fed up) she doesn't list all the phone numbers.

You might also write to the General Manager of your local ABC Television 
affiliate.  Suggest the GM contact the Affiliate Relations board as well 
as the programming division.  

Just for the record, I'm a peakie too, and will be sending my letters 
tomorrow.  I'll also talk with my GM as well.  :-))
