    ELECTRONIC NEWS FORUM



Intro to USENET:

USENET is a worldwide electronic news delivery service.  It is accessible
from countless computers thoughout the government, corporate, and 
educational sectors.  There is general information regarding this
resource below.  In particular, there is one "newsgroup" or interest
group on USENET devoted to discussion of Twin Peaks;  specific stats
relating to this group are provided.

The information below is a subset of data provided by an ongoing USENET
statistical observation conducted as an ongoing project at Digital
Equipment Corporation and provided freely as a service.


Summary of this data:
---------------------

An estimated 38000 persons worldwide read the Twin Peaks interest group 
on the USENET network news service.  Of 706 newsgroups on topics ranging
from technical/professional issues to social topics, the Twin Peaks
group ranks 188, or in the 74th percentile.  The newsgroup carries
over 1000 "postings" (articles or letters) each month, or over 34 per
day.  It is "received" by 69% of all sites on USENET;  note that receiving
a group is optional, meaning that 69% of all the sites have an interest in
seeing this group.

If we VERY UNSCIENTIFICALLY extrapolate from these statistics that 2.6% of
the GENERAL POPULACE is, like the readership of USENET, interested in
Twin Peaks, this would yield approximately 6.5 million viewers in this
