I don't, and many of my friends don't. I wouldn't mind having one, but what little disposable income I have goes to other things--I feel lucky just to have my little black and white TV. Not everyone can timeshift, mute commercials with their handy remote and freeze-frame a show to death. Some of us just *watch TV*, just like back in the stone ages before all you yuppie gadget-freaks existed. :) > >Can't they > >afford just one critically acclaimed program on their schedule to show > >that they actually do care about quality? Personally, my most satisfying TV experience this year was the series of Bravo broadcasts of the Oresteia. I watched it over and over again. I'm sure the ratings for *that* made Twin Peaks look like the Super Bowl by comparison, and I'm sure Bravo wasn't too upset. Who needs ABC? Maybe it's time the networks *did* die. -- Rod Johnson * rjohnson@vela.acs.oakland.edu * (313) 650 2315 "Life has a throat" --Peter Blegvad
