Yeah, that's the feeling I got too -- though I heard about the 
cancellation on Tuesday morning, long after the show. I can't make any 
sense out of Josie's death, and it just seems too random for BOB. I also 
find it hard to believe that they'd make such a big thing of Eckhart's 
coming to town, only to kill him off so easily.

In other words, this thing sounds a lot like the EuroVersion mess. 
Fortunately, if the show is reborn (at least for the six episodes, or at 
the very least a tie-up movie), TP is one of the few shows on which they 
might be able to roll back the last ten minutes of the show and make it 
not have happened.
