Welp, since our esteemed president Bob Cappel hasn't posted yet, the co-director of Iowa City COOP (aka yours truly) will be happy to let y'all know how our COOP party went. We held it at a local restaurant (no charge for the space, cause people attending bought lots o food). We showed old episodes, fed people donuts, took donations, and sold T-shirts and buttons. When all was said and done, we had about 100 letters, 100 new COOP members, 20 T-shirt orders, and a bunch of button orders. We also met all the other people in the community who were organizing petitions and letterwriting campaigns. In conjunction with this, we ran an all-day promotional campaign on the UIowa music station -- lots of mentions, cuts from the soundtrack and the Cooper tapes, and Peaks trivia. We'd encourage people to form chapters. You *can* have an effect, it isn't hard, and we've had a *lot* of fun. -- ---------------------- "I was always busy doing something close to nothing..."
